Young Q was the prodigal son of Q and Lady Q. As a child, he was stripped of his powers and forced to live on board Voyager, to be mentored by Captain Katherine Janeway.

His passion for history had him studying the experiences of the crew of Star Trek Enterprise D, led by Captain Picard. His facination with engineering and hi-tech gadgets was propelled by his knowledge of the VISOR technology.

After leaving voyager to explore space on his own, he added a last name of LaForge in honor of the great Geordi LaForge. His close friends, simply call him Q.
