After joining the Center for Advanced Studies, Tazi Felicitas soon became disillusioned with academic life and turned his skills toward hacking, becoming a well known hacktivist. This new found fame brought him unwanted attention from an unnamed government agency. Facing a possible investigation as well as pressure from CAS for his activities, Tazi enrolled in the capsuleer program.

He narrowly failed the initial testing process but, perhaps out of a desperation to end his hacktivism without the publicity of a lengthy legal battle, his results were altered to a qualifying grade.
