Born Landale, Isobel changed her surname to Skybourne after gaining her Capsuleer Wings. She was educated at the Centre for Advanced Studies, where the classes in AI-technology made her a bit of a drone fetishist. She also became interested in railguns and EWAR. And knitting.
At university, she was part of a group advocating equal rights for AI, in particular the right of Sleeper drones to coexist in peace. Since she became a capsuleer, she's realized that the Sleepers are generally determined NOT to coexist in peace, wherefore she now advocates her right to pre-emptive self defense. She does care deeply about her own drones though, and actually thinks the Circadian Sleepers are kinda cute...
