About boredom...
It's when being bores a hole into your mind and you fall into that hole. The scary silence of not sensory but psychological deprivation, the futility of existing for the sake of existing. We are creatures attuned to be aroused by the environment and thus when existence presents itself in that uncomfortable mixture of calm and angst we yearn for our consciousness to be repopulated with all those pesky little, distracting details of the environment, which have suddenly melted into the background for no apparent reason.
