Tanner keeps having these weird dreams about Sky Hausmann... no, wait. He grew up on Todifrauan VII, and studied astronomy for a few years before leaving school to pursue a career playing old-time banjo. After a couple of moderately successful tours with the Accretion Disk Boys, this came to an abrupt end when an incident involving a mechanical bull, an excess of Gallente whiskey, and the mayor's daughter cost him the end of his right thumb and necessitated stowing away on the next freighter off-planet.

Unable to face switching to Scruggs style and stuck for a week with nothing to read but a flyer from a freighter pilot school, Tanner signed up for their introductory course and soon found that a pilot's life suited him just fine.

Since joining Brave Newbies, Tanner has taken up a sideline in arms dealing, specializing in bulk supply of complete frigate fits at wholesale prices.
