Born into a family of deep space miners Tarseine was always expected to follow his father into asteroid mining. However once his father was killed by pirates while delivering a shipment of rare ore Tarseine decided that his skills as a pilot were wasted on mining.

Tarseine abandoned his mining and enrolled in the University of Caille. While there he focused his studies on military tactics and advanced command tactics, hoping to be able to command a ship that would allow him to bring justice to the system.
