You might not like gankers, the pain we inflict and the fact that we rob people of their hard earned assets. But you have to realize that for some people, we are the game and the only content they take part in. All of their content relies on the ganker. Even if they have zero impact on the game or the ganker, their whole game is to follow, bump, try and fail to sabotage and to feed the ganker ego with attention. Lots and lots of attention. The fuel that drives most gankers aside from ISK. Even though their gameplay is one of zero impact, its their way to pass the time and to get some form of fulfilment. They chose to play our game and that is what Eve Online has to offer for them. Remove the ganker, and these people have no content. We're the sharks, they're the pilot fish. Support your local sharks with loaded haulers and keep the pilot fish alive. Commensialism in its true form. What a wonderful world.
Seeing as anti-gankers generally have zero impact, which is not an exaggeration, I sincerely wish that CCP would add some mechanisms for people to be able to support each other by increasing their survival chances when hauling. Giving some form of fleet bonus, active modules to make ganking harder when moving in a group. Or some other mechanism that encourages social engagement and community building.
Right now there are many ways to make a gankers life harder. Several ways to sabotage different gank setups. However, it appears that most highsec dwellers who try, are only aware of a few methods. Generally the low to zero impact methods, that either have trivial imapct or are easy to get around.
