Born in the laboratories of Caldari megacorporation Kaalakiotam as part of warclone batch 071 produced under contract to the Caldari Navy. But before the combat augmentation process could be completed the system was annexed by The Gallente Federation and he was 'liberated' by the legislation of the Freedom of Sentience Act.. The infant Kronen was adopted by the family of a lower middle-class bureaucrat, Herbert Crumbdingal, and raised to follow his 'father' into an honourable career in the Federal Civil Service.
Unfortunately, the incomplete augmentation process, whilst not equipping him with any actual combat skills, had nonetheless instilled in Kronen a deep-rooted propensity for violence. Whilst still only an adolescent Kronen was disowned by his family after a string of incidents, culminating in the theft of a Federal Civil Service shuttle, the destruction of a Reverent Sisters of the Church of Gallente transport and the kidnap and ransom of the Head of the Federal Administration's dog 'Fluffy'. Kronen's behaviour proved too much for even the liberal minded Gallente and he was pressed into military service. It was there that he was reunited with laboratory 'siblings' Doris0071 and Legend071, who, like many of the clones engineered for the Caldari sword but liberated by the Gallente pen, struggled to live a mundane, domestic life.
After finally graduating bottom of his class at the Gallente Federal Naval Academy, and unanimously voted 'most likely to be sucked into a black hole' by his classmates, Kronen was immediately discharged and bounced from one dead end hauling job to the next. He eventually found himself in Minmatar space where his anti-social propensity for violence allowed him to fit right in. Out of options, Kronen lost himself in the station bars and brothels, hitting the booze and stimulants hard until, after a particularly debauched three-day bender, he woke with a life changing hang over and press ganged into the TLF. Despite his initial panic and continuing protests he seems to secretly like flying spaceship around and, despite suspicions of sabotage due to his excessive ship loss rate, he remains in service,
