A distinguished graduate of the Federal Navy Academy, "Jaf" Anders has served with distinction in the Gallente Militia in numerous campaigns from YC112-YC117, fighting on behalf of the Federation and her interests across Placid, Black Rise, and Verge Vendor. Joining Colonial Marines EVE Division, Jaf learned from experienced pilots how to engage other pilots in both solo and small gang action and taught newer pilots in training and live-fire scenarios. In late YC114, after holding the responsibilities of Director and representing his corporation in Gallente Militia internal affairs, Jaf was recruited alongside good friend and legendary solo pilot "Shadow" Adanza into the Quantum Cats Syndicate, widely regarded as the premier group for pushing the engagement envelope in low-security space.

The events of YC115 would define his career. Early that year, Jaf Anders' Archon-class carrier was part of a Drunk 'n' Disorderly-Lost Obsession operation to reinforce a player-owned station in a backwater system in Black Rise; the following day's action there would become known as The Battle of Asakai. Also in YC115, Jaf took part in the first full liberation of the disputed low-security star systems between the Caldari State and Gallente Federation, becoming one of only 2,000 capsuleers to be recognized for the accomplishment. Midway through that year, the Quantum Cats Syndicate overtook every other corporation, capsuleer-led or otherwise, in ships destroyed fighting on behalf of the four major factions in the EVE cluster. Jaf grew in leadership and command capability and helped build the skills of new pilots as a founding member of the Gallente Militia War College.

After years of small-to-mid-scale fleet action, Jaf joined Ice Fire Warriors in a bid for higher-stakes fights until he retired from capsuleer activity to focus on private business. Jaf returned to ground operations in late YC125 as a part of the VANGUARD program and as a pilot shortly thereafter.
