I have had a priviliged youth; my parents were wealthy enough to provide me with all I needed, and I have had plenty of opportunity to indulge in my hobbies and personal interests. I dearly loved tinkering with the latest spaceship models or attending exhilarating social events. Even becoming a pod-pilot was a fun-filled adventure.
It all changed when my brother asked me to join the SPCS to help him organize matters. It was a great honor of course, don't misunderstand me, but it was also a task I accepted with heavy heart. I know the meaning and importance of duty, I fully support our society's concept of making personal sacrifices for the greater good of all. But I never really experienced what that actually meant, and how hard it can be for someone to take on such responsibility. Sometimes I wish I had not taken my youth for granted as I did.
I don't know God's greater purpose for me, but I vow to fullfill my duty to the best of my ability.
